Bistel Construction has recently been awarded the Surfing WA new location project at South Trigg Beach, Western Australia. The building is a single storey split level facility designed to complement the coastal environment and with views of the Indian Ocean.
The purpose-built new home for Surfing WA will consist of offices, toilets, training rooms, surfboard stores, boardroom, meeting rooms, changerooms, kitchenette and coach rest rooms. In summary, the Surfing WA project will provide the local community with:
a. reduced traffic, parking and crowd congestion at Trigg’s northern car park top end;
b. public open space that will be retained and completed with new grassed terracing, trees, landscaping, shade shelter and seating;
c. a new landscaped ‘pause’ area with seating for pedestrians and cyclists, improved access and rest zones for users of the paved coastal pathway;
d. safe and more efficient training amenities for surfers catering to the future growth of WA’s largest surf school program;
e. a location for modern surf education, training, equipment, events and workspaces; and
f. a new washdown facility, changerooms and ablutions for surf participants and coaches.
Bistel Construction’s scope of work will include the complete construction of the facility inclusive of all major earthworks, concrete works, structural steel framing, façade works, metal roofing and all internal office / room fit outs.
