Bistel Construction has recently reached practical completion on the Koongamia Oval Pavilion project located in Koongamia, Western Australia. The project successfully reached practical completion on 26 March 2020, ahead of schedule and within the City of Swan’s allocated budget.

The project was designed by the Bistel appointed Architect, Lycopodium Architects and managed by the City of Swan.

The project comprised of a complete strip out and demolition of the main function centre, adjoining kitchen, bar and changerooms adjacent to the existing hall, existing roof and insultation to the building. The construction element of the project included the construction of the new unisex change rooms, umpires’ room and changeroom and first aid room. The main function centre was refurbished with new acoustic raking plasterboard ceiling, carpet and vinyl flooring, new electrical and air conditioning systems, and painting of all surfaces.

The external aspect of the project comprised of a new coloured exposed aggregate concrete pavement, reticulated landscape turf, concrete disabled ramp and limestone retaining walls. A new roof was installed to the existing section as well as additional areas of the new facility.

The internal of the refurbished and new building zones were serviced with fire detection, fully mechanical air conditioning via ceiling space ductwork, change room exhaust and toilets, associated plumbing, security, CCTV and electrical systems.
